Our Commitment

At The FMRT Group, we set the standard for public safety employers by providing comprehensive psychological and medical evaluations. Our goal is to empower clients with the knowledge to make informed hiring decisions and maximize their human capital investments.
We deliver outstanding psychological services, combining industry expertise and cultural awareness. Through continuous innovation, we offer unmatched support, making us the top choice for employers hiring and retaining personnel in key roles.
Our commitment includes maintaining high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct. We foster a collaborative environment that encourages open communication, creativity, and growth. We ensure compliance with all regulations and strive to exceed client expectations.
We value honesty, openness, and constructive communication, creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere. The FMRT Group is dedicated to helping employers build strong, resilient teams that enhance workplace safety and productivity.

Pre-Hire Services

At FMRT, we guarantee next-day verbal recommendations for pre-employment referrals and provide comprehensive reports within five to seven business days.

We support informed hiring decisions with thorough psychological and medical evaluations delivered by our experienced and qualified clinicians.

Pre-Conditional Offer Screenings

FMRT screenings are “in the blind” (no direct psychologist-applicant contact) review of information. Our pre-conditional offer screening reports deliver both qualitative and quantitative data results, drawing from biographical information such as but not limited to the FMRT BRAINS assessment and a normal personality assessment, among others. These assessments are meticulously analyzed using a data-driven matrix developed by Dr. John F. Warren III, a board-certified police and public safety psychologist, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

It’s important to note that, like all research and predictive endeavors, screenings carry an inherent “error rate.” Despite the best available information at a given time, screening errors can occur.

While larger departments, especially those with academies, often opt for pre-conditional offer screenings, other departments may find them beneficial as an initial step to support background investigations and initial interviews. No matter the department size or stage of the hiring process, FMRT screenings provide valuable insights to aid in informed decision making.

Post-Conditional Offer Psychological Evaluations

FMRT’s post-conditional offer psychological evaluations are conducted by licensed doctoral-level psychologists who possess a deep understanding of public safety job requirements. Adhering to the professional practice and ethical guidelines set forth by the American Psychological Association and the American Board of Professional Psychology, as well as legal and national industry standards, our evaluations ensure thoroughness and integrity.

These assessments cover various aspects, including background risk factors, cognitive abilities, writing skills, and personality factors. The results are compiled into standardized, comprehensive reports designed to provide the reader with insights into the applicant’s strengths, weaknesses, and psychological suitability. Report findings will be either: Psychologically Suitable or Not Psychologically Suitable.

Medical Evaluations

The FMRT clinical team conducts thorough medical evaluations tailored to public safety job roles. These assessments identify any medical barriers that might affect an applicant’s employment based on relevant guidelines.
Advanced practice professionals uphold the highest ethical standards and comply with all federal and state laws. Evaluation results are compiled in a detailed online report, accompanied by necessary state forms. Medical evaluations include but are not limited to medical history review, drug testing, tuberculosis skin testing if warranted, and audiometry assessment. Report findings will be: No Medical Barriers to Employment, Potential Medical Barriers to Employment, or Medical Barriers to Employment.

The FMRT BRAINS Assessment

The FMRT BRAINS Assessment is an extensive online screening tool for public safety employers. It securely collects detailed applicant information via an online portal. The report offers valuable insights into personality traits and behavior, aiding in interviews and background checks. Early screening with BRAINS saves time and resources while improving hiring decisions.

Post-Hire Services

At The FMRT Group, we support our public safety departments by facilitating post-hire services that assist both employers and employees throughout their careers.

Fitness-for-Duty Evaluations

FMRT conducts evaluations according to the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) guidelines, assessing if an employee can safely perform job duties due to potential psychological conditions. Our comprehensive evaluations include clinical consultations, mental status exams, record reviews, and relevant testing. Reports conclude whether the employee is “Fit for Duty” or “Not Fit for Duty.”

Critical Incident Appointments

Confidential sessions with culturally sensitive mental health professionals are offered within 48-72 hours after a critical incident. These sessions explore the employee’s reactions, support systems, and available professional resources. Employees receive educational materials and a three-month follow-up, while employers are informed of attendance only. The employee will also receive psycho- education material for reference in addition to a three-month follow-up with the psychologist. The employer will receive “Attended/Did Not Attend” as the only feedback.
